The Upper Hudson Valley Wine & Grape Association (Association) this week launched its first Upper Hudson Valley Wine Trail passport. The growing not-for-profit Association, which sponsors the wine trail, currently has twelve commercial wineries with three more expected to open soon. The member wineries are working collectively and with other local businesses to attract visitors to the region north of Albany, to Washington County, Saratoga County and Lake George, to enjoy our local wines, beers, spirits and foods along with our unique cultural and natural resources. The Grand Tasting at last weekend’s Taste of Upstate Wine, Food, Music and Art Festival was the successful first festival sponsored by the Upper Hudson Valley Wine & Grape Association. One thousand people came out to experience the breadth of wines produced by the Upper Hudson Valley Wine Trail wineries, as well as other wines, beers and liquor from upstate New York State producers. The Upper Hudson Valley Wine & Grape Association is pleased to announce that five of our member wineries were awarded medals at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition (“FLIWC”), which was held March 29-30 in Rochester, NY to benefit Camp Good Days. UHVWGA members’ hand crafted wines exhibit proven quality, as their wines were evaluated by a prestigious group of 75 judges standing alongside 3,756 other wines entered from 20 countries. The wineries earned one Double Gold, three Gold, 15 Silver and 14 Bronze medals at the competition. Read More
